Character News - Swimming Success!
Luca W (Y7): my journey throughout Altrincham swimming club. I started my journey there when I was just 7. After about 2 years of hardworking and training consistently I had progressed into the top squad. A couple months after being in this squad I achieved my first Cheshire County time.
After this result, I felt more motivated and at the next inter county competition I received a further 6 county times.
I represented Altrincham swimming club in my first Cheshire counties and won 1 gold medal, 1 bronze and 5 silver medals. I felt very proud of myself.
I attended the October half-term holidays’ swim camp in Spain.
Swimming in the Olympics has always been a dream for me, so I train very hard and competing regularly, so I can fulfil my dream of being an Olympic swimmer.
The Cestrian character traits I use when competing in a swimming gala are:
Learn from mistakes-why didn’t I get the time I was hoping to get, what can I do better/change next time?
Resilience-I have disciplined myself to attend 6 training sessions a week to improve my ability and performance.
Passionate-I need to be passionate and enthusiastic about my swimming, so I can keep trying hard even when I might be frustrated about a time; keep dedicating myself to training hard to get quicker.
