It was a packed event open to the public and attended by ex-servicemen and women, civic leaders and cadets from across the area. Highlights for me were listening to inspiring speeches and watching the Drill Display with lights in the dark. I was responsible for parading a giant Union Jack flag, as part of a team of 4, up to the mast to be raised in front of Concorde at the start of the service, and then paraded out again at the end. It was amazing and something I'll never forget.
