Mr Millard was supported by pupil leaders during our Freshers' Fayre to recruit young chefs to the Rendezvous Café extracurricular club.

"Rendezvous Café has been booked out now till July 2024. This means six groups of 18 pupils booking on a six-week program in the cook club on a carousel until we finish in July 2024."

Don't worry, you can still be involved as part of the service team or even as a customer, enjoying the fine food our pupils make!

Kindness Club have chosen a Christmas appeal to support which is Wood Street Mission, a charity that collects Christmas gifts, selection boxes, books, wrapping paper and chocolate for children in Manchester and Salford who are struggling at Christmas. Kindness Club reps will hopefully be popping into forms  and assemblies to advertise their collection and U8 can be a drop off for anyone who wants  to bring in any items. The charity do ask for new items not old toys so as a group we were thinking maybe selection boxes and wrapping paper could be a cheaper alternative but we are happy to accept all toys too!

• Be a coach to a younger pupil?

  It would involve meeting your buddy once weekly (with free breakfast in the canteen) to read with them and discuss their book, for about 10-15 minutes.

  The main benefits are:

• improving your reading and speaking skills
• sharing good things to read and finding a new way to enjoy reading
• having a younger member of the school see you as a friendly face, a mentor, someone who can help you with all things NCS
