Salary: NJC Pts 7 - 17 dependent on experience (£24,294 - £28,770)

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Start date: 1st August or 19th August depending on notice period

The Hamblin Education Trust has operated since September 2016 consisting of two schools, North Cestrian School and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. We are currently looking to recruit an IT Technician to support the smooth running and day to day aspects of IT operations within the Trust.

As an IT technician, this is an excellent opportunity to expand your technical expertise and make a meaningful impact in the field of education.

The IT team supports our hybrid IT infrastructure. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our cloud-based systems built around Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, ensuring the Trust schools, and our primary school clients, receive exceptional ICT support. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your technical expertise making a meaningful impact in the education field and is ideally placed as a graduate position as full training will be provided.

The role requires:

  • Effective contribution to the smooth operation of our largely cloud-based systems built around Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Ensuring our primary school clients receive exceptional ICT support.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Effective team working skills, including flexibility and adaptability.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Awareness of, and compliance with, policies and procedures relating to child protection, safeguarding and safe working practices, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection.

Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is an academy school based in Altrincham, Cheshire for boys aged 11-18.

The school was founded in 1912. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School. It caters for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire. The academic results are outstanding and they place the School in the top 20 maintained schools in the country. Our GCSE results are strong in respect of 9/8 grades and our ‘A’ level results in respect of A*/A/B grades. The 2022 Ofsted Report graded the School as ‘Outstanding in all area’.

At AGSB we tailor our curriculum to ensure students are nurtured as well-rounded individuals, excelling in core subjects like Mathematics, English and the Sciences but who are also deeply knowledgeable about the Arts and Humanities.
